The Yaksha Manjusha team of Mangaluru will present the richness of Yakshagana theatre at India Gate during the Delhi Foundation Day celebration on Saturday (November 1).
According to the Director of the team, Vidya Kolyur, 10 Yakshagana artists will present a 20-minute show in the ‘Deshaj’ programme, jointly organised by the Government of Delhi and Sonchiraiya organisation, engaged in the promotion of folk arts.
The artists, representing the ‘tenku thittu’ school of Yakshagana, will prominently showcase Raja Vesha, Pundu Vesha, Stree Vesha, Bannada Vesha, and other ‘veshas’ of ‘tenku thittu’, Ms. Kolyur said in a statement.
The team will leave to Delhi on Friday (October 31) and return on Sunday (November 2).
Teams from more than 10 States will showcase their States’ representative art forms at ‘Deshaj’, she said.
