Youth arrested in MKB Nagar for flying a kite using banned manja thread

The MKB Nagar police arrested Vijay, 25, of Sastri Nagar in Vyasarpadi for flying a kite using banned manja thread.

As the use of manja thread can cause fatal accidents, the City Police Commissioner has issued strict orders banning the manufacture, sale, and use of manja thread for within city limits.

A team, led by the MKB Nagar Police Station Inspector, conducted surveillance in Vyasarpadi on Sunday evening, and caught a man flying a kite from a terrace using manja thread. The team registered a case for further investigation.

After an inquiry, the police arrested Vijay and seized a kite and five spools of manja thread from him. Investigation revealed that he had purchased the kite and manja thread online.
