Deputy Commissioner of Police (Administration), NTR District, K.G.V. Saritha on Thursday advised the youth to cut back on mobile usage and nurture their creativity.

Speaking at the 58th National Library Week celebrations at P.B. Siddhartha College of Arts and Science, where she launched the novel A Tale of Lies by young author Tanisha Kaja, Ms. Saritha emphasised that people should avoid becoming overly dependent on technology and instead focus on developing their natural talents to earn recognition, reduce unhealthy competition and stress and safeguard their mental well-being.

Referring to the debut work of Ms. Kaja, she said the novel was set against the backdrop of a girl’s kidnapping. Though the police department had fewer women officers, one of the central characters in the story was a woman police officer. Mr. Sarita lauded the young author for portraying the challenges and values upheld by officers in service.

Principals of the college Meka Ramesh and Ch. Venkateswarlu, Dean Rajesh C. Jampala, education consultant Sunkara Nagabhushanam, writer Papineni Sai and librarian Vani also spoke at the event.
