YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) State official spokesperson and former TTD chairman Bhumana Karunakar Reddy has raised doubts over the investigation by both the CID and ACB into the Parakamani theft case.
Addressing the media in Tirupati on Friday, Mr. Karunakar Reddy said, “The investigation by the CID and ACB into the Parakamani theft case has not been conducted as directed by the court. The leaders of the coalition government claimed that all the thieves had been caught, and I was the mastermind behind that.”
“The CID officials called for investigation only those who had been questioning the government. They sidelined the instructions of the court. It seems that the investigation has been done to insult us. What happened during the investigation should be kept secret, but it was published in the yellow media,” Mr. Karunakar Reddy said.
“Why was the investigation not video recorded and why were signatures not taken?” he asked.
“The officials have been trying to portray us as thieves for the past three months. Why were those who claimed to have evidences not called for investigation? The investigation was conducted unilaterally,” he said.
“Ravi Kumar, the main accused, had given the assets to the TTD EO. If anyone registers their assets, the TTD takes them. Ravi Kumar’s wife and daughters also gave their assets. He wrote the gift deed with devotion to the God,” Mr. Karunakar Reddy claimed, and vowed to quit politics if the link with Ravi Kumar was proven.
