The Andhra Pradesh Maritime Board (APMB) has allotted 12 acres of land on the Kakinada coast for the ₹100 crore shipbuilding centre cum repairing unit being built by Kakinada-based MAT Marine Services. On Tuesday, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu virtually laid the foundation stone for the project near Kakinada Anchorage Port.
MAT Marine Services Secretary J.V.N. Prasad Raju told The Hindu; “The State government has allotted 12 acres of land through the APMB for the shipbuilding centre cum repairing unit. The centre will be built with an estimated cost of ₹100 in the first phase”.
MAT Marine Services provides comprehensive services to the oil and gas sector for both onshore and offshore operations along the Kakinada coast.
Meanwhile in other developments, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu virtually inaugurated the Flatted Factory Complex in Tuni and Santhoshimatha Corrugators Pvt Ltd’s packaging unit in Peddapuram industrial area.
Kakinada District In-Charge Minister and Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister P. Narayana, Kakinada MP T. Uday Srinivas, MLA V. Venkateswara Rao, District Collector S. Shan Mohan attended the virtual inauguration programme held at Kakinada Anchorage Port campus.
Kakinada city MLA Venkateswara Rao appealed to Minister P. Narayana to initiate measures for the develop Kakinada anchorage port.
