A family celebration ended in tragedy when a 10-year-old boy drowned in a swimming pool during a wedding-related function at a resort in Moinabad on Monday evening.
The victim was identified as Surya Prakash Singh, who entered the swimming pool along with other children attending the celebrations. He drowned while playing in the pool.
According to Moinabad Inspector G. Pavan Kumar Reddy, the incident occurred at Mrugavani Resort in Aziznagar, where a family from Baghlingampally had gathered for a relative’s sangeet ceremony. Family members noticed the boy in distress and immediately rushed him to a nearby private hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.
Police said they reached the resort soon after receiving information about the incident, but the family members had already left the premises. The official added that no complaint has been lodged so far, despite the police contacting the family. Further action will be taken after receiving a formal complaint.
