Coimbatore District Collector Pavankumar G. Giriyappanavar has informed the Madras High Court that a total of 13 resorts in and around Anaikatti area falling under No. 24 Veerapandi village have been closed due to lack of various approvals. In a status report submitted before the court through the Special Government Pleader on Thursday, the Collector informed the court that proceedings for closure have been initiated against 12 more resorts.
The Collector submitted that a team comprising Directorate of Town and Country Planning (DTCP), Rural Development, Revenue and Forest Department officials conducted a comprehensive joint field inspection and verification of documents related to 33 resorts and establishments based on the court’s earlier direction.
As per the status report, the local body confirmed that Anaikatti Hill View Cottages, Bharath Holidays Resort, Corniche Inn Resort, Dolphin Resort, Firefly Farm House, GMax Hill View Farm House, KK Selfie Point Resorts, Madhuram Cottage, Hills & Valleys Farm House, two cottages with no name boards, Kaattru Farm Stay and G Max were closed by their owners on September 11, 2026, pursuant to the directions of the High Court.
It stated that final notices, as part of the closure proceedings, have been issued to 12 resorts operating in Nanjundapuram, No.24 Veerapandi and Karamadai, namely Aara Jungle Resort, Blue Hills Club, Wild Woods Resort Anaikatti (renamed as Blue Hills Club), Brew’s 43 Resto & Cafe, Elephant Country Farm Stay, Five Star Garden Restaurant, Sarva Farm House (Farm Retreat), Sikara Farm Retreat (Farm Retreat), SR Happy Valley Farms, SR Jungle Resort, SR MD Cottage and Safari Farms Resorts & Leisure. Three establishments, Darza Resorts, My Village Eco Tourist Resort and Wild Door Cafe in No.24 Veerapandi, were found to have approvals.
Three other establishments inspected were found to have been used as individual residential houses. Two other places were vacant sites without any building.
