The teams engaged in searching for four members of a family who were reported missing in the Bhadra canal at Kudligere, in Shivamogga district of Karnataka, traced two more bodies on January 22. With this, the bodies of all four persons have been found. The four persons had gone to the canal to wash clothes on January 18.
On January 22, the teams of the State Disaster Response Force, the Fire and Emergency Services and expert swimmers found the bodies of Shwetha, 28, her husband Parashuram, 33.
The experts retrieved the body of Shwetha’s mother Neelabai, 50, on January 21, while that of her brother, Ravi Kumar, 22, was found on January 19.
On January 18, the four persons had left their home in Arebilachi village on two bikes to wash clothes in the canal. The local people suspected that all four drowned in the canal. They informed the Holehonnur police. The search operation that began on January 18 evening concluded on January 22.
