The Bangladeshi nationals, who entered India illegally, were deported to Bangladesh from Attur special camp on Tuesday.
The Bangladeshi nationals, who worked at various places across the State, were arrested by the police and they were lodged at the special camp. Through the embassy, the Indian government deported these people whose cases were disposed of.
In the first phase, on Tuesday, 24 people lodged in Attur special camp, including five children and seven women, were sent to West Bengal through the Howrah – Ernakulam Antyodaya Express train from Salem Railway Junction with police protection. Officials attached to the Social Justice and Human Rights Unit said that these 24 people will reach Howrah on Wednesday at 2 p.m., and from there, through embassy officials, they will be sent to Bangladesh, the officials added.
