25 sovereigns gold jewellery stolen from a house in Pudukottai

Thieves broke into a house at Veerampatti village in Mathur police station limits in the district on Thursday afternoon and took away 25 sovereigns of gold jewellery when the house owner and his family were away.

The police said the criminals broke the front door lock of the house and took away gold jewellery kept in a cupboard. Mariappan, owner of the house, and his family were away. The Mathur police have registered a case on a complaint from Mr. Mariappan.
