As many as 50 students of a government primary school in Jamlapur village of Aurad taluk in Bidar district were shifted to a Government Hospital on Tuesday when they complained of uneasiness after consuming midday meal.
Of the 50 students brought to the Aurad Taluk Hospital for observation, 20 were found to be suffering from severe stomach pain and vomiting and were admitted for treatment, while the remaining were discharged after preliminary medical examination.
Taluk Health Officer Gayatri said that the condition of the admitted students is stable.
“There could have been some issue with the midday meal. An inquiry is under way to ascertain the exact cause,” she said.
Aurad Tahsildar Mahesh Patil and officials of the midday meal programme visited the hospital and reviewed the situation.
They said that all the students are out of danger. They are being closely monitored.
