A total of 56 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs were launched across Anantapur and Kurnool districts on Tuesday (October 6, 2026), with a goal to bring better medical services closer to the people and ensure better health for everyone.

In Kurnool, 27 Ayushman Arogya Mandirams were inaugurated by MP Bastipati Nagaraju in the presence of Panyam MLA Gouru Charitha Reddy, Pattikonda MLA KE Shyam Babu, Alur constituency in-charge Vaikuntham Jyothi and others. These were part of the 267 Ayushman Arogya Mandirams (Health and Wellness centres) inaugurated by Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav from Janardhanapuram in Krishna district.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Nagaraju said the government is taking measures to ensure that people in rural areas receive necessary medical services near their own villages, eliminating the need to travel long distances for primary healthcare. He said that these centres would ensure timely primary medical care and enable the early detection of health issues, facilitating necessary treatment. The MP urged the public to make full use of these government initiatives aimed at safeguarding their health.

Panyam MLA Gouru Charitha Reddy said the State government is according top priority to the medical and health sectors. She highlighted that the government is taking special measures to strengthen the necessary infrastructure for public health and to make quality medical services available to rural residents right near their villages.

She said the ‘Sanjeevani’ programme is being used to continuously monitor the health status of the public and ensure the timely provision of superior medical treatment to those in need. They noted that ‘Ayushman Arogya Mandir’ centres would bring essential services—such as primary medical care, health screenings, early disease detection, and health awareness—closer to rural populations.

The public would have free access to 12 types of medical services, 14 types of medical tests, and 105 types of medicines.

In Anantapur, MP Ambika Lakshminarayana, Joint Collector C. Vishnucharan, and others participated in the inauguration of 29 Ayushman Arogya Mandirams. The MP said both the Central and State governments are striving to improve rural healthcare by generously releasing funds. He emphasised that development is possible only through a healthy society.
