Patriotic fervour marked the Republic Day celebrations in Nandyal, Kurnool, and Anantapur districts, with the national flag unfurled across government offices, educational institutions, and cultural as well as non-governmental organisations on Monday (January 26, 2026). The parade, held as part of the official district-level celebrations, featured tableaux from various departments showcasing the developmental achievements of the respective districts.
In Nandyal, Collector Rajakumari Ganiya unfurled the national flag at the Government Degree College Parade Grounds here. The parade featured contingents of police and tableaux from various government departments. Addressing the gathering, Ms. Rajakumari outlined the development achieved by the district in agriculture, irrigation, and other sectors, while highlighting the various government schemes and initiatives.

For the first time, the tableau of Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple, Srisailam, participated in the Republic Day Parade held at the district headquarters. The tableau won second prize among all the participating departments. In addition to the tableau depicting the temple and its grandeur, the Dharma Prachara Radham and the Dharma Prachara tableau of the temple were also showcased in the parade.
In Srisailam, the temple trust board chairman Pothugunta Ramesh Naidu and executive office M. Srinivasa Rao unfurled the national flag.

In Kurnool, Collector Dr. A. Siri unfurled the national flag and received the guard of honour from the police and other contingents. She felicitated the families of freedom fighters on the occasion.

Viswa Vani, the first woman from the State to be trained in heavy vehicle driving under the PM-AJAY scheme, drove an RTC bus at the Parade Ground. She drove the bus alongside the tableaux of other departments and was presented with a certificate of appreciation by the Collector.
The celebrations were also held at the Human Rights Commission (HRC) and Lokayukta offices.
Indian Institute of Information Technology, Designing, and Manufacturing (IIITDM) in-charge Registrar Dr. J. Krishnaiah unfurled the national flag on the campus and addressed the gathering highlighting the national theme “150 years of Vande Mataram.”
He emphasised that patriotism must be practiced through education, innovation, discipline, ethical conduct, and service to the nation, in line with the ideals of India’s freedom fighters and constitutional values.
A Blood Donation Camp was also organised by NSS–NSO, IIITDM Kurnool, reflecting the institute’s commitment to social responsibility, humanitarian service, and community welfare.
In Anantapur, Republic Day celebrations was held at the Police Parade Grounds in which In-charge Collector C. Vishnu Charan took part.
