Desilting of water courses under the special desilting work got under way in the delta districts on Saturday.
Minister for Water Resources Duraimurugan inaugurated through video conference the desilting work, including the removal silt from the Karuppankottai Vari in Manojipatti and Melaveli and surplus drain of the Rengodaiyan Tank in Thanjavur district.
