Elected representatives of DMK, AIADMK close ranks to press for improved train services from Pollachi and Udumalpet

Espousing the cause of travelling public, elected representatives of rival political parties have together highlighted the common cause of the travelling public by urging the Railways to improve train services at the Pollachi Railway Junction.

Thanking the Ministry for upgrading the Junction under Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, E. Eswarasamy, Lok Sabha MP of Pollachi constituency, said the train services were inadequate despite the huge potential for travel related to spirituality, tourism and trade.

Referring to the classification of Pollachi by the Central government during 2020 as ‘Town of Export Excellence for Coir and Coir Products’, Mr. Eswarasamy said there was no direct regular train service from Pollachi and Chennai Tambaram/Egmore, or to northern districts of Tamil Nadu, and the Cauvery delta districts.
