The Hubballi Urban Taluk Kannada Sahitya Sammelan 2026 will be held on Sunday at Lingaraj Nagar Samudaya Bhavan in Hubballi.
Addressing presspersons in Hubballi on Thursday, president of the Dharwad Zilla Kannada Sahitya Parishat Lingaraj Angadi said that senior writer Jayashri Viranna Dande will inaugurate the literary convention.
Writer Sneha Bhusanur has been chosen as the Sammelanadhyakshe.
Prof. Angadi said that during the inaugural session five books by various authors will be released by MLA Mahesh Tenginkai and Deputy Mayor Santosh Chavan.
MLA Prasad Abbayya and MLC Pradeep Shettar and various eminent personalities are expected to attend the inaugural session.
The programme will also feature a poetry recital session chaired by senior researcher J.M. Nagayya.
A thought-exchange session will also be held in the presence of the former Hubballi MP I.G. Sanadi and other leaders.
An open meeting of office-bearers of the Hubballi Taluk Kannada Sahitya Parishat will also be held as part of the event.
Chairperson of Basava Seva Pratishthana, Bidar, Gangambika Akka will deliver the valedictory address during the closing ceremony to be attended by MLC H.F. Jakappanavar, the former MLC Mohan Limbikai and Hubballi-Dharwad Police Commissioner N. Shashikumar.
Cultural programmes will also be organised as part of the sammelan.
