The cadre of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) in Coimbatore will ensure that the party and its Coimbatore South candidate V. Senthilbalaji lose the Assembly elections, K. Annamalai, former State president of the BJP, told the media in Coimbatore city on Monday.
“It is clear that only he (Mr. Senthilbalaji) wants to win in Coimbatore from the DMK,” he said. In Coimbatore south, 18 independent candidates from Karur have filed nominations. These candidates will be used to distribute freebies in the constituency, he alleged and added that the BJP will take this up with the Election Commission of India. .
Chief Minister M.K. Stalin keeps talking about the FCRA Bill, claiming that it is against the Christians. The bill has been withdrawn.
There is no clarity if the Tamil Nadu government has resubmitted the Detailed Project Report for Coimbatore and Madurai, he said and listed the Central government schemes that have been implemented in Coimbatore. “We will take special interest in the Coimbatore MSMEs and see what can be done to revive them,” he added.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) have an unique model of government in Andhra Pradesh and the same can be replicated in Tamil Nadu too, he said. The focus now was on ensuring that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) wins the Assembly elections and the BJP has more MLAs.
Mr. Annamalai earlier said the NDA will implement key projects, including the Coimbatore metro rail, and added that former Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami had taken up the matter with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
