Unorganised workers demand scrapping labour codes, 3% of budget for welfare measures

The Unorganised Workers’ Federation on Friday demanded the withdrawal of the four labour codes, the allocation of 3% of government budgets for the social security of informal workers, and the expansion of welfare measures, at a May Day meeting held near the Labour Statue here.

The federation — which comprises trade unions representing workers across the unorganised sector — called for the protection of workers’ rights, strengthening of welfare boards, and expansion of social security measures.
