Former minister P. Geetha Jeevan on Thursday said that there was no law and order in the State and it was being ridiculed within a short span as everything under this government was centred around ‘reels.’
Addressing the media in Thoothukudi, she observed that the Singappen Special Force (SSTF) recently inaugurated by Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay is nothing but the DMK government’s Pink Patrol unit, which has merely been renamed and relaunched.
She criticised the Chief Minister, stating that while he speaks about women’s safety, he fails to hear the cries of his own party woman worker from Srivaikuntam, who has allegedly been sexually assaulted by fellow party members and has been seeking justice for the past 15 days.
Ms. Jeevan added that the woman had publicly alleged that she was sexually assaulted by TVK party functionaries and has specifically named Srivaikuntam TVK MLA as being aware of the incident, but no inquiry has been conducted against him.
She said that since the TVK government assumed office, its members have continuously spread disinformation through social media, portraying schemes implemented during the DMK regime as if they were introduced only after the TVK government came to power.
She further stated that the TVK party members were allegedly involved in intimidation, extortion and forced collections.
Ms. Jeevan stated that everything in this administration has become centred around ‘reels’. From Ministers reviewing meetings onwards creating reels have become mandatory. “They are setting a narrative through reels and are promoting, spreading false information to reach every section of the people” she said.
She also added that there is no law and order in the State, adding murders, robberies and sexual crimes have increased.
