After a gap of eight years, elections for unions of the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation will be held on October 9, with the first step of the election process, that of submission of willingness of unions to contest scheduled for September 21.
The last union membership verification was held on July 19, 2016, with recognition under relevant stipulations being accorded to the Telangana Mazdoor Union.
The Returning Officer, who is the Joint Commissioner of Labour Hyderabad, issued the first notice to as many as 46 trade unions, directing them to submit records, such as respective union registration certificate, rules, affiliation certificate, undertaking accepting the code of discipline, list of members who have paid subscription and audited annual returns.
The decleration of results is scheduled for October 17.
