Decomposed body of man found on Kodiyakarai shore

The body of a 40-year-old man was found in a decomposed state on the shore at Kodiyakarai in Nagapattinam district on Friday morning.

The identity of the deceased is yet to be established. The body was recovered and sent to Nagapattinam Government Medical College Hospital for autopsy.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the deceased may be a Sri Lankan fisherman, though officials said confirmation was awaited.

The Vedaranyam Marine Police have registered and are investigating, police sources said.
