PSBB Group of Schools celebrates 69th anniversary

Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan (PSBB) Group of Schools celebrated its 69th anniversary, Abinaya 2026, with the theme ‘Kaatrin Mozhi’ in the city on Friday. Students from all branches of the school presented a series of cultural performances including choir renditions, musical theatre, Bharatanatyam, instrumental and vocal music with wind becoming as both the metaphor and the unifying element throughout the programme.

The chief guests, Carnatic vocalists Ranjani and Gayatri, said that as students perform, they were also witnessing courage and emotion. “It takes courage to walk onto the stage. Music has taught us many things, but above all, the brutal truth that there are no shortcuts to music. Music is not luck but labour,” the duo said. “Whoever you admire on stage or in any field is not just magical. They simply refused to stop practising,” they added.

They also asked the students to make use of the infinite possibilities and opportunities before them. “Be rooted in your culture, values and language. Most of all, be kind, compassionate and caring. These are the gifts that bring both you and the community around you immense happiness.”

Sheela Rajendra, dean, director, and correspondent of the PSBB group of schools, remembered Mrs. Y.G. Parthasarathy, and extensively thanked the teachers and parents for supporting the students in pursuing extracurricular activities apart from academics. Students from all classes took part in more than 14 cultural performances where each of the performance interpreted the abstract theme of wind in a unique way.
