Young cardiologists urged to combine expertise with empathy

Young cardiologists should build their careers with competence, courage and confidence while carrying compassion throughout their professional journey, said Ashwin B. Mehta, Director of Cardiology, Jaslok Hospital & Research Centre, Mumbai. He was delivering the Dr. S. Thanikachalam Endowment Oration in Cardiac Sciences at Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research (SRIHER) on Saturday. According to a release, he emphasised the importance of combining clinical expertise with empathy and a patient-centred approach in the practice of medicine.
