Gachibowli police arrested a man for allegedly possessing multiple Indian passports under different names and dates of birth, and using them in connection with applications for US visas.
The accused was identified as Mothukpalli Lakshmikanth Reddy. During the investigation, police obtained passport records from the Regional Passport Office and records from the US Consulate. The records allegedly revealed multiple identities and passports associated with the accused, including Muddannola Laxmikanth, Medha Prasoon Kumar Reddy, Medha Prasoonkumar Reddy and Mothukpalli Lakshmikanth Reddy.
Police apprehended him on Friday and seized several passport-related documents and electronic devices, including an iPhone 15 Pro and an iPad. He was arrested at 8 p.m. after following due procedure and is being produced before a court.
The police are now verifying the accused’s biometric records, international travel history and passport application documents. Investigators are also examining his electronic communications and the possible role of passport brokers or intermediaries in obtaining multiple passports. Further investigation is underway.
