The Mysuru division of South Western Railway organised a one-day training for visually impaired employees with the objective of enhancing their efficiency in day-to-day official work through the effective use of accessible digital tools and office applications.

The programme focused on providing practical demonstrations and guidance on various digital platforms and office applications used in railway offices. The training covered HRMS (Human Resource Management System), e-Office (file creation, movement, noting and correspondence), UMID (Unique Medical Identity Card), preparation of official notes and letters, Microsoft Word and Excel, keyboard shortcuts and accessibility features for efficient office work.

The programme was inaugurated by Shammas Hameed, ADRM, Mysuru. Shirish S. Kamble, senior DPO, Mysuru, and other railway officials and staff were present.

Mr. Hameed interacted with the visually impaired employees and heard their grievances, suggestions and work-related concerns. He promised them that their issues would be examined and appropriate action would be taken.

The programme was aimed to promote greater accessibility, confidence and efficiency among visually impaired employees, enabling them to make effective use of digital technologies in their official duties, a press release said.
