District Collector Ranjeet Singh released the Annual Credit Plan (ACP) for the financial year 2026 – 2027 during the Bankers’ Meeting held on Tuesday, which puts the credit outflow for various sectors at ₹21,978 crore.
The Annual Credit Plan, prepared by Indian Overseas Bank, the district’s Lead Bank, envisages an overall credit target of ₹21,978.25 crore. Of this, ₹17,060.30 crore has been earmarked for the ‘Priority Sector’, while ₹4,917.97 crore has been allocated to the ‘Non-Priority Sector’.
The major sector-wise targets under the ACP include ₹13,761.55 crore for agriculture, the predominant profession of the district, and the allied activities, ₹2,000.45 crore for micro, small and medium enterprises, ₹29.42 crore for education loans, ₹155.13 crore for housing loans, and ₹1.99 crore for renewable energy like installation of solar panels in the houses.
The highlight of the meeting was loan disbursement by Mr. Ranjeet Singh to the beneficiaries from various sectors. Education loan amounting to ₹75 lakh to 12 students and industries loan to the tune of ₹47.46 lakh to 9 beneficiaries were disbursed. Four Self-Help Groups received ₹21 lakh for their business ventures.
In all, loan assistance of approximately ₹1.43 crore was extended to 21 individuals and 4 SHGs during the meeting.
The District Collector stressed the need for banks to ensure speedy disposal of loan applications and timely disbursement of financial assistance to eligible beneficiaries, particularly under Government-sponsored schemes and priority sectors.
The Collector also gave away ‘Appreciation Certificates’ to the best-performing banks under TAHDCO schemes. Indian Overseas Bank (IOB), Tamil Nadu District Central Cooperative Bank (TDCC) and State Bank of India (SBI) were appreciated for their commendable performance in implementing TAHDCO schemes in Tenkasi District.
The meeting was attended by Assistant General Manager of Reserve Bank of India Vishwanath, Chief Regional Manager of IOB Parameswaran, Project Director of Mahalir Thittam Dhandapani, General Manager of District Industries Centre Mariammal, Lead District Manager Muthusamy and others participated in the meeting.
The meeting reviewed the progress of credit-linked schemes and emphasised stronger coordination between banks and government departments for achieving the ACP 2026–27 targets and ensuring inclusive credit delivery across Tenkasi District.
