School teacher killed in accident as bus runs over her in Erode

A 21-year-old teacher at a private Montessori school died on the spot after being crushed under the wheels of a private bus at Moolapalayam on the Erode–Dharapuram Road on Thursday (July 31, 2025).

S. Mrithyanga of Chettipalayam was on her way to the school in Moolapalayam on her two-wheeler when the accident occurred. According to the police, a private bus hit her vehicle from behind, causing her to lose control and fall onto the road. She was run over by the rear wheel of the bus and died on the spot.

Erode Taluk police rushed to the scene and sent the body to the District Headquarters Hospital for post-mortem. The bus driver has been taken into custody for inquiry.
