Demonstrating the extraordinary possibilities of precision, patience and craftsmanship, international micro sculptor from Warangal Ajay Kumar Mattewada has created yet another remarkable art piece.
This time, he has sculpted a tiny Ganesha, measuring just 150 microns in height, on a single strand of human hair, approximately 100 microns in diameter. Notably, even the chain around Ganesha’s neck and a laddu in his hand have been intricately crafted.

“This miniature Ganesha can be clearly viewed only through a microscope. A human hair is generally about 80–100 microns in thickness,” said Ajay, adding that it took approximately 30 hours to create the sculpture which will be unveiled on the eve of Vinayaka Chavithi.
The micro sculptures created by Ajay, a goldsmith by profession, have already received national and international recognition. He has been dedicated to the field of micro art for over 40 years, earning several national and international recognitions for his craftsmanship.
Last year, on the eve of Vinayaka Chavithi, Ajay had unveiled a tiny sculpture of a dancing Ganesha on the tip of an eyelash. His miniature sculptures of C. V. Raman, Vikram Sarabhai, and A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, crafted inside the eye of a sewing needle, were carried into space aboard Skyroot Aerospace’s Vikram-1 rocket on July 18.
