The Tiruchi City Police will make comprehensive security arrangements for the procession and immersion of idols of Lord Vinayaka in the Cauvery on September 16.
The police are making arrangements along the Cauvery bridge from where the idols would be immersed in the Cauvery. Over 1,000 police personnel are to be on duty at various places within Tiruchi City on September 16. A posse of manpower will deployed along the Cauvery bridge to regulate traffic.
Meanwhile, the police took out flag march from Gandhi Market arch to Anna statue on Saturday. The flag march on Sunday was conducted at Ariyamangalam to instil confidence in the minds of the people. Tiruchi District Collector Pratik Tayal, in a press release issued on Sunday, said that flying of drones in the district was prohibited on September 16.
