Three locals held for ‘providing logistical support’ to terrorists in J&K’s Rajouri

Three locals were held in Pir Panjal valley’s Rajouri district on Friday (September 18, 2026) for allegedly providing logistical support to infiltrating terrorists of the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) in the region, the Jammu and Kashmir Police said on Friday.

“The three accused persons, all residents of Kot Charwal, were allegedly part of a logistic support module linked to the proscribed terrorist outfit LeT,” said the police.

Facilitated movement

The arrested locals were identified as Mohammad Azam, Zakir Hussain and Mohammad Mushtaq, the police said, adding that the accused allegedly “harboured and facilitated the movement of terrorists”.

“Their alleged role in assisting, harbouring and facilitating the movement of terrorists who were subsequently killed in an encounter at Chassana, Reasi, in 2023 has also emerged,” the police said.

The locals, according to the police, “provided shelter and logistical assistance to multiple terrorist groups and facilitated their movement across the Rajouri-Reasi districts and through the Pir Panjal region up to Shopian”.

During the course of the investigation, the police said one pistol along with a magazine and ammunition, besides two Chinese grenades, were also recovered on the disclosure of the accused.

“Further investigation is underway,” the police added.

Army officers visit Udhampur

Meanwhile, the General Officer Commanding (GOC), White Knight Corps, accompanied by GOC Delta Force, on Friday visited Brattal in Udhampur where two terrorists were killed on Thursday in an anti-terror operation.

A spokesperson said the Army officers reviewed the evolving security environment, operational dynamics and measures to sustain relentless operational tempo, ensuring a swift, coordinated and decisive response to emerging threats.

On the successful neutralisation of two terrorists, the GOC lauded the troops of White Knight Corps for their resolute action, high morale and unwavering commitment.
