Ganapathi Bhat appointed SVVU Vice-Chancellor

K. Ganapathi Bhat, a professor of Advaita Vedanta and Dean, Faculty of Darsanas, at National Sanskrit University (NSU), Tirupati, has been appointed as the Vice-Chancellor of Sri Venkateswara Vedic University (SVVU). Mr. Bhat succeeds the incumbent Vice-Chancellor Rani Sadasiva Murty.

Governor S. Abdul Nazeer, in his capacity as the Chancellor of SVVU, appointed Mr. Bhat to the post for a period of three years.

Mr. Bhat has made significant contributions to the study and propagation of Indian knowledge traditions at NSU and towards promotion of ‘Shastric’ studies and preservation of Indian heritage and culture and advancement of Sanskrit.

NSU Vice-Chancellor G.S.R. Krishnamurthy, in a press release, conveyed his congratulations to Mr. Bhat and expressed hope that the latter’s contributions would continue to the Vedic university in his new capacity.
