Home Minister V. Anitha on Sunday inaugurated a new fire station building at Sabbavaram in Anakapalli district. The fire station was constructed at a cost of ₹1.60 crore, from the 15th Finance Commission funds. Pendurthi MLA Panchakarla Ramesh Babu, and other leaders from the NDA were present.
During the inaugural, Ms. Anitha inspected various facilities at the new fire station and inaugurated a new fire tender. She also visited a stall set up by the Fire Department and enquired with officials about the functioning of various firefighting and rescue equipment.
Ms. Anitha appreciated the firefighters for performing their duties with dedication, often risking their lives during disasters and emergencies.
Recalling the services of fire personnel during the Budameru floods, she said they had played a crucial role in reaching households and helping clean the affected surroundings. She shared that during the tenure of the NDA government said several new fire stations had been established and a large number of new fire tenders procured to strengthen the Fire Department and improve its response to emergencies.
Ms. Anitha further assured that she would make efforts for the development of the Pendurthi Assembly constituency. She appealed to NDA candidates to demonstrate their strength in the forthcoming local body elections.
