District Collector Ranjeet Singh has said traders can submit their online application for getting licence for the temporary crackers shops for the Deepavali celebrations.
In a statement, Mr. Ranjeet Singh said the traders, who want to set-up their temporary shops for selling crackers for the upcoming Deepavali celebrations can submit their applications online via https://www.tnesevai.tn.gov.in till October 18.
The applicants should attach the challan for having paid ₹500 in the government account towards licence fee, Aadhaar card, Electors’ Photo Identity Card, or ration card for address proof, 2 passport size photos, blueprint showing the locality of the site for proposed shop, the adjoining roads and other surroundings, registration document copy of the land on which the shop is to be set-up or the copy of rental agreement of the site etc, should be submitted along with the online application.
The online application will be scrutinized by the revenue, police, fire and rescue services departments before accepting or rejecting the application. The permission or the rejection of the application can be downloaded through the e-seva centres. This procedure is not applicable for those who want to apply for permanent cracker shop or for licence for stocking crackers.
Anyone found to be stocking or selling crackers without due permission will be booked by the police.
Hence, the licence-seekers should set-up their cracker shops in isolated areas and scrupulously follow all stipulated conditions to ensure accident-free Deepavali celebrations, Mr. Ranjeet Singh said.
