Southern Railway would run two special trains (Trains on Demand) to clear extra rush of passengers during Gandhi Jayanthi.
Tambaram – Tenkasi/Sengottai –Tambaram Express:
Train No. 06123 Tambaram – Tenkasi Express Special would leave Tambaram at 11.55 p.m. on October 1 (Thursday) and reach Tenkasi at 12.15 p.m. the next day, a statement said. Train No. 06124 Sengottai –Tambaram Express Special will leave Sengottai at 5.40 p.m. on October 4 (Sunday) and reach Tambaram at 4.30 a.m., the next day.
The train would have one AC 2-tier coach, two AC 3-tier coaches, 12 sleeper class coaches, four general second class coaches and two second class coaches for differently abled passengers.
The trains would stop at Chengalpattu, Villupuram, Vriddachalam, Tiruchi, Dindigul, Madurai, Virudhunagar, Sivakasi, Srivilliputtur, Rajapalayam, Sankarankoil, Kadayanallur and Tenkasi.
Tambaram-Manamadurai-Tambaram MEMU trains
Train No. 06159 Tambaram – Manamadurai unreserved MEMU special would leave Tambaram at 4.30 p.m. on October 1 (Thursday) and reach Manamadurai at 1.20 a.m., the next day, the statement said.
Train No. 06160 Manamadurai – Tambaram unreserved MEMU special will leave Manamadurai at 2.45 p.m. on October 4 (Sunday) and reach Tambaram at 11.45 p.m., the next day.
The trains would stop at Chengalpattu, Melmaruvathur, Villupuram, Vriddachalam, Ariyalur, Srirangam, Tiruchi, Dindigul and Madurai.
Meanwhile, the Southern Railway has extended the running of Tirunelveli-Tambaram-Tirunelveli special train during the weekend.
Train No. 06166 Tirunelveli-Tambaram special will be run on Sunday, and Train No. 06165 Tambaram – Tirunelveli Special will be run on Monday.
