Police inspector Mahesh Kumar placed on vacancy reserve

Inspector C. Mahesh Kumar, who was serving as an investigating officer with the Immoral Trafficking Prevention Unit (ITPU) of the Chennai Police when a complaint was filed against Gem Granites chairman R. Veeramani, has been placed on Vacancy Reserve with immediate effect on administrative grounds, sources said. Mahesh Kumar served as an inspector with the ITPU in 2025 when the complainant had submitted a pen drive containing a video clip of the businessman allegedly sexually assaulting a minor girl.
