Gantihole urges people to make effective use of Praja Seva Abhiyan meetings

Byndoor MLA Gururaj Shetty Gantihole on Saturday said the Praja Seva Andolana is a programme that concerns the people, and the public should make use of it. People’s representatives and officials should work effectively to deliver government services and facilities to the common people in a timely manner, he said.

Mr. Gantihole was speaking at the Murgolihaklu Nandikeshwara Sabha Bhavan in Bijur village of Byndoor taluk, presiding over the Praja Seva Andolan of Bijur Gram Panchayat in Byndoor Hobli. He said officials should listen seriously to the problems of the public in the meetings and work towards providing effective and permanent solutions to them.

People’s representatives and officials should go where the people are. The grievances submitted in the meetings should be followed up continuously. This is a people-oriented programme bringing together officials, people’s representatives and the public to redress public grievances on the spot.

Udupi Deputy Commissioner T.K. Swaroopa said said the government has launched the Praja Seva Andolana with the aim of creating a feeling among the people that the government is always ready to serve them by going to their doorsteps and providing solutions to their grievances within the time limit.

A total of 54 applications related to various departments were submitted at the meeting.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Abid Gadyal, Zilla Panchayat Deputy Secretary S.S. Kadrolli and others were present.
