Camps to enrol first-time voters to electoral rolls to be held in the Nilgiris

Special camps will be held across the three Assembly constituencies in the Nilgiris to enrol first-time voters in the electoral rolls, the district administration has said.

The district administration said in a statement, “The Election Commission of India, vide its communication dated 29.09.2026, has directed that in States/UTs where the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) has already been completed, a special drive will be undertaken by the Chief Electoral Officer, District Election Officers and EROs for the enrolment of left out and young/first-time eligible electors under the process of continuous updation. Declaration Form attached with Form 6 will be used during SIR phase only. For non-SIR period, the Forms applicable as per the Registration of Electors Rules 1960 will be used.” 

“Camps will be conducted through the Electoral Registration Officers and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers of the three Assembly Constituencies in the Nilgiris for the enrolment of the names in the electoral roll,” it added.
