Train services altered for track maintenance in Coimbatore

Train services will be altered on October 7 and 8 to facilitate track maintenance works in the Coimbatore Junction railway yard.

The Mettupalayam–Coimbatore MEMU (Train No. 66613), scheduled to leave Mettupalayam at 10.55 a.m., will be short-terminated at Coimbatore North on October 7 and 8. It will not operate between Coimbatore North and Coimbatore Junction on these days.

The Coimbatore–Mettupalayam MEMU (Train No. 66614), scheduled to leave Coimbatore Junction at 11.50 a.m., will instead originate from Coimbatore North at 11.57 a.m. on October 7 and 8. It will operate from Coimbatore North to Mettupalayam.

Four express trains will be diverted via Podanur and Irugur, resulting in the skipping of Coimbatore Junction.

The Chennai Egmore–Mangaluru Central Express (Train No. 16159) of October 6 will be diverted via Irugur–Podanur on October 7 and will skip Peelamedu, Coimbatore North and Coimbatore Junction. It will have an additional stoppage at Podanur Junction from 9.45 a.m. to 9.50 a.m.

The Dhanbad–Podanur Amrit Bharat Express (Train No. 16620) of October 5 will be diverted via Irugur–Podanur on October 7 and will skip Coimbatore Junction.

The Dibrugarh–Kanniyakumari Vivek Express (Train No. 22504) of October 4 will also be diverted via Irugur–Podanur on October 7 and will skip Coimbatore Junction. It will have an additional stoppage at Podanur Junction from 10.47 a.m. to 10.50 a.m.

The Alappuzha–Dhanbad Express (Train No. 13352) on October 7 and 8 will be diverted via Podanur–Irugur and skip Coimbatore Junction. It will have an additional stoppage at Podanur Junction from 12.15 p.m. to 12.20 p.m. on both days.
