The Women’s Studies Centre of Thiagarajar College organised the Indian Women Network (IWN) Institutional Member Installation Ceremony, featuring a special lecture on “Beyond the Business Card – Leadership, Relationships and the Power of Being Remembered,” here on Monday.

The programme focused on leadership, professional networking, relationship-building and empowering young women to develop the skills and confidence required to navigate the contemporary professional landscape.

Welcoming the gathering, Principal D. Pandiaraja observed that a business card is more than a professional identity. It represents an individual’s character, relationship and contribution.

Delivering the presidential address, college President Uma Kannan emphasised the importance of academic qualifications, confident communication, hard work, technological awareness, adaptability and a strong sense of responsibility.

She encouraged students to establish a positive digital presence and exercise sound judgement in choosing their habits, associations and role models.

IWN Chairperson Hema Satish highlighted the network’s initiatives in supporting women-led small enterprises and encouraged participants to learn from experienced professionals while simultaneously developing an independent initiative and entrepreneurial confidence.

The Managing Director of Sree Vinayaga Screens, L. Ramanathan, highlighted the value of focused effort and explained how professional relationships can gradually develop from initial acquaintance into sustained trust and customer loyalty.

Women’s Studies Centre Director R. Aruna proposed a vote of thanks.
