The Sivaganga court ordered three life sentences to a man who murdered three women, including his wife and mother-in-law, in a family dispute near Manamadurai.
Pandithurai, 42, is from Vellur village near Manamadurai in Sivaganga district. His wife is Rajeshwari. They have a male child. In 2015, due to a disagreement with her husband, Rajeshwari went with her child to her parents’ house located in the same area.
Meanwhile, Pandithurai went to his mother-in-law’s house to see his child. During the argument that ensued there, Pandithurai hacked to death all three women: his wife, Rajeshwari; mother-in-law, Dhanalakshami, 45; and another relative woman.
The Manamadurai SIPCOT police registered a case regarding this and arrested Pandithurai. The case was being tried in the Sivaganga Additional District Court.
Judge Ramalingam, who heard the case, ordered three life sentences and a fine of ₹75,000 for accused Pandithurai.
