Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will distribute pattadar passbooks on October 9 to 8,500 farmers of Kondepi constituency in the Prakasam district.
Ahead of the CM’s visit, State Endowments Minister and Ongole District In-charge Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy, along with State Social Welfare Minister Dola Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy and District Collector P. Raja Babu, inspected the arrangements on Monday.
Accompanied by district officials, the Ministers inspected potential sites suitable for the Chief Minister’s visit in the Kalikivayi, Bitragunta, and Narsingolu areas. They offered special prayers at Sri Shaniswara Swamy temple in Narsingolu.
Mr. Reddy said the State government accords top priority to the welfare of farmers, pointing out that the Chief Minister conducts programmes dedicated to farmers’ welfare on the 9th of every month.
He announced that pattadar passbooks bearing the official seal will be distributed to farmers as part of the ‘Mee Bhumi – Mee Hakku’ (Your Land – Your Right) programme. He said a report regarding the Narsingolu site will be submitted to the Chief Minister’s Office.
Mr. Swamy said that the government is taking steps to grant farmers absolute rights over their land through the ‘Mee Bhumi – Mee Hakku’ programme. Providing them with pattadar passbooks with the official seal, the government is ensuring greater security for land rights, he added.
He stated that clearance has already been granted for approximately 4,000 acres of ‘Gramakantham’ lands (village settlement lands) in the district that were previously classified as prohibited. He revealed the clearance was specifically issued for about 400 acres in Narsingolu village.
Mr. Swamy also mentioned that pattadar passbooks have been distributed to farmers covering thousands of acres so far. He said that the farmers and the public are expected to participate in large numbers at the Chief Minister’s visit to Narsingolu.
