Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu on Tuesday virtually launched several initiatives, including the headquarters of the State Organ and Tissue Transplant Organisation (SOTTO) at G.B. Pant Hospital, a Nursing Home Management System portal, and the expansion of ANMOL (Advanced Newborn Monitoring and Optimal Life Care) scheme, according to a statement from the CM office.

The initiatives were launched under the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ at Thyagaraj Stadium on Tuesday. Health minister Pankaj Singh was also present at the event.

The government said that such initiatives are aimed to further strengthen Delhi’s healthcare system by bringing together modern technology, effective public health systems and a humane approach.

While the online organ donation pledge portal was made operational on September 17, the physical and institutional tracking hub — the SOTTO headquarters building at G.B. Pant Hospital — was inaugurated on Tuesday. The CM has pledged to donate her organs and became the first one to register on the SOTTO portal. She reiterated that organ donation is not merely a medical procedure but an act of humanity and compassion, according to the statement.

The government also said that it is expanding existing schemes such as Mission ANMOL aimed at comprehensive health check-ups, screening for newborn babies. The screening comprises 63 congenital diseases. So far, more than 75,000 newborns have been screened and over 700 children have received timely treatment, the statement said. It added that the government is working to increase annual screening coverage from around 1.5 lakh to 2.5 lakh newborns.

The monthly incentive for Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHA) workers in Delhi has also been increased from ₹3,000 to ₹6,000, which is a “recognition of their contribution and dedication”, the statement added. This will provide financial support to Delhi’s 6,690 ASHA workers and further strengthen door-to-door health services, a Delhi CMO post said on X.

The Nursing Home Management System portal will make processes related to nursing homes more simple, transparent, and accountable, said the CMO.
