Motorist arrested for assaulting TGSRTC driver, conductor in Tolichowki

A motorist was arrested for assaulting a Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) bus driver and conductor following an argument in Tolichowki on Tuesday.

According to officials, the motorist, identified as Zeeshan, got into an argument with TGSRTC driver Mohammed Azam and conductor P. Lakshmaiah on road while driving in Tolichowki near the Galaxy bus stop. He allegedly blocked the bus with his car and verbally abused the duo, and later physically assaulted them, leding to Mr. Azam sustaining injuries. The accused also allegedly damaged the ticket issuing machine.

Acting on a complaint by Mr. Azam, the Tolichowki police registered a First Information Report (FIR) against Mr. Zeeshan under relevant sections of the BNS and Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act and arrested him. He was produced before a local court and was remanded to judicial custody.

In a statement, TGSRTC Vice-Chairman and Managing Director Y. Nagi Reddy asserted that those who obstruct government employees from discharging their duties would not be tolerated and legal action would be initiated against them.
