Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several Union Ministers during his two-day visit to New Delhi from Wednesday (October 7, 2026) to seek the Centre’s approval for the Visakhapatnam Metro Rail project and the proposed Beach Corridor.
According to a press release issued by the State government, Mr. Naidu will meet the Prime Minister, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Union Jal Shakti Minister C.R. Patil, Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari and other Union Ministers.

During his meeting with Mr. Modi, the Chief Minister is expected to seek approval for the Visakhapatnam Metro Rail and Beach Corridor projects. He will also request the Prime Minister to initiate measures for taking up a river-linking project in Andhra Pradesh.
In view of the drought-like conditions in the State due to the impact of El Niño, Mr. Naidu will seek special financial assistance from the Centre for providing relief.
He is also expected to seek Central support for conducting the Godavari Pushkarams scheduled next year. Discussions with Ms. Sitharaman will include taking forward the Rayalaseema Global Horticulture Hub project.
During his meeting with Mr. Patil, the Chief Minister will discuss measures to utilise the large volumes of floodwater flowing from the Godavari into the sea and the proposed river-linking initiatives.

On Thursday, Mr. Naidu will participate in the curtain raiser for the CII Partnership Summit along with Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal at noon. The event is being organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in New Delhi. The Chief Minister is scheduled to return to Amaravati on Thursday night.
Naidu congratulates Modi on 25 years as head of government
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi on completing 25 years as head of a government and described him as the “right leader at the right time” for India. In a post on X, he said the country was moving rapidly towards the goal of Viksit Bharat @2047 under Mr. Modi’s leadership.
The “double-engine bullet train governments” at the Centre and in the State had given fresh impetus to development and investment in Andhra Pradesh, Mr. Naidu said. His government was working to build a strong India under Mr. Modi’s leadership and to realise the goal of a prosperous “Swarna Andhra Pradesh”, he said.
