A 28-year-old woman was murdered by her 38-year-old husband in Perungudi on Tuesday night.
The police said Loganathan was a resident of Kallukkuttai in Perungudi, and worked as a food delivery agent. He was married to Sudha for more than eight years. Both of them were addicted to alcohol. On Tuesday night, when the couple was consuming liquor, a domestic fight ensued in which Loganathan strangled Sudha and fell asleep, police said.
On waking up on Wednesday morning, he discovered that his wife was dead. He fled from the house. Finding the door of the house closed for a long time, residents of the locality informed the Thoraipakkam police, who recovered the body and sent it to Government Royapettah Hospital for postmortem examination.
Later, the Thoraipakkam police arrested Loganathan in Saidapet.
