The Judicial Department and Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) jointly conducted a cleanliness drive at the old court complex and the new court complex at Malalawadi in Jayanagar here on Friday as part of the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ campaign.
The drive was led by Principal District and Sessions Judge B. Jayant Kumar and attended by MCC Commissioner Savitha M.K., district judges, senior civil judges, civil judges and other judicial officers.
Mr. Jayant Kumar unveiled the MCC’s new cleanliness logo, carrying the message ‘Clean Mysuru – Our Pride, Our Priority’. The logo is intended to give a distinct identity to the city’s cleanliness initiatives and create public awareness about hygiene and sanitation, according to the MCC.
Members of the Mysuru Bar Association, including its president S. Lokesh and secretary A.G. Sudheer, court staff, MCC officials and pourakarmikas participated in the drive.
The premises of both court complexes were cleaned using the corporation’s vehicles and equipment, and accumulated waste was cleared.
A cleanliness pledge was administered as part of the programme. Awareness was also created about the Solid Waste Management Rules, 2026, with emphasis on waste segregation at source, scientific waste disposal, maintaining cleanliness in public places and citizens’ responsibility in protecting the environment.
