The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), Mangaluru Regional Office, has settled the social security benefits payable to the family of MRPL contract employee Manish Karkada, who succumbed to a fire in an MRPL unit on September 30.
In a press release, the regional office said it has settled the Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) and the Employees’ Deposit Linked Insurance amounts payable to the family members. A monthly pension was sanctioned and it commenced from Thursday.
Regional Provident Fund Commissioner Sandeep Biswas and Assistant Provident Fund Commissioner Ankit Singh visited the residence of the family on Friday and handed over the pension payment order. Prompt settlement reflected the EPFO’s commitment to ensure timely delivery of social security benefits and extend financial support to families of tragedy victims, the regional office stated.
