Prof. K. Ganapathi Bhat of Advaita Vedanta and Dean, Faculty of Darsanas, at National Sanskrit University (NSU), Tirupati, formally took over as the new Vice-Chancellor of Sri Venkateswara Vedic University (SVVU) here on Friday (October 9, 2026). Outgoing Vice-Chancellor Prof. Rani Sadasiva Murty formally handed over the charge to Prof. Bhat.
Governor S. Abdul Nazeer, in his capacity as the Chancellor of the TTD-run Vedic university, appointed Prof. Bhat for a period of three years from the date of assumption of charge. Prof. Bhat has made significant contributions to the study and propagation of Indian knowledge traditions at NSU and towards promotion of Shastric studies and preservation of Indian heritage and culture and advancement of Sanskrit.
