The Nileshwaram police have arrested two more people in connection with the seizure of 665.67 grams of suspected MDMA reportedly smuggled from Delhi on the Mangaluru Express, taking the total number of arrests in the case to four. The police are investigating possible international links behind the alleged drug trafficking and whether the accused are connected to a separate drug smuggling case in Mangaluru, where suspected MDMA worth several crores was allegedly intercepted while being transported through a courier service.

The other two arrested are Ahmed Rukshad, 33, and Abdul Hameed, 30. The seized substance is valued at more than ₹50 lakh.
All four accused were produced before the Hosdurg court and remanded in judicial custody. The police plan to file an application seeking their custody for further questioning.
The operation was conducted under the supervision of Kanhangad Deputy Superintendent of Police M.V. Anilkumar on the instructions of Kasaragod District Police Chief P. Nidhinraj.
