Assault on child: child rights panel registers case

The Kerala State Commission for Protection of Child Rights has taken suo motu cognisance of the alleged assault of a six-year-old girl by her mother. The incident occurred at Udiyankulangara, near Neyyattinkara,

The commission has sought details from the Parassala Station House Officer and the district child protection officer following media reports that the child was beaten up after she deleted WhatsApp from her mother’s phone. The Parassala said they had registered an FIR but the mother had not been arrested yet.
